At Playground AfterDark, we embrace the acceptance and ever-evolving landscape of medicinal cannabis as a prescribed medication.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, we've put together the following House Policy in compliance with current Australian laws:

For everyone’s peace of mind, we might ask for photo ID to match with your prescription

Vaping of Prescribed Cannabis

Got a script for your cannabis? Awesome! You can consume your medicine in our designated smoking area between 6:00pm - 10:00pm. Just have your prescription ready to show our team. Currently, the only legal form of consumption of these products is via a vaporizor. 


Edible Products

Oils, capsules, and other edible forms of cannabis are permitted, but only for the person they’re prescribed to. We might ask for proof, so keep that prescription handy. 


Products In Venue

Bringing in some inhalables or oil? Make sure they’re in their original container with your name and prescription details.


Interest in medical cannabis has surged recently, and we're thrilled to support this movement! If you're in Perth or regional WA and want to learn more about accessing medical cannabis, your journey begins with a conversation with your doctor or specialised cannabis access clinic.

While research into the efficacy and effects of plant-based medicines, including medicinal cannabis, for certain treatments is increasing, it is currently in its early days. Patients should always talk to a health professional for advice on their unique requirements before making any decisions about treatment options. On occasion Playground AfterDark will host on events such as workshops or other that may supply, sell or permit (B.Y.O) liquor. This venue is governed by the WA government through the Racing, Gaming & Liquor authority.

The Approved Manager of the venue is S. Lai. The General Manager is A. Holt.

Each Playground AfterDark staff member operates with a WA government approved Responsible Service of Alcohol certification and has the right to refuse service and/or ask patrons to leave if deemed necessary.

At Playground AfterDark, we’re all about good vibes, community connection and creating an open and accepting atmosphere. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any anti-social behaviour. We expect all guests to behave in a manner that does not place at risk the safety of our staff or other patrons. If something’s got you feeling uneasy, please chat with us. We’re here to listen and you will be heard.

AfterDark is an 21+ experience. We will perform ID checks in accordance with our policy from 4.20PM onwards in order to provide safe access to the dedicated medicating area via Plant Playground.
